When Work-at-Home Becomes Deadly

Work At Home-A DANGEROUS job!
I don't have childcare for my kids, so they are here while
I'm working.
Today, I was focused on my task...Concentrating,
Looking for any errors I might have overlooked. Concerned about
my reputation, and the projects integrity. It had to be
Just right. I mean, I was into it.
I had been focusing like this for a good 10 minutes, and was
about to make a very important change to the document.
Then....WHAM!!!!
Out of nowhere, I nearly fell out of my chair. For a second
or two, I didn't know what had happened, but I knew something
had made contact with the side of my head. I forgot where I was
for a moment and thought maybe I'd been in a car accident. It really hurt!
I had been sideswiped by a plastic toolbox.
Oh! The pain!
We've been trying to teach our almost 3 year-old NOT to throw his toys in the house.
Now I wish we'd tried a little harder. I don't think I'll have a black bruise, but I've got a splitting headache and a goose-egg on the side of my cheekbone.
Later that day......
Fast forward to about an hour after bath-time. He likes to put his blankie up on the shelf in the kitchen and go "night night" up there. (he just lays there and looks around, pretends to snore when I walk by)
He decided he wanted to go "night night" on the window sill, even after I told him he wouldn't fit. I wasn't paying attention, and he set about proving to me just how much he listens.
As he toted his blankie to the window sill, and was just about there, he tripped on the blankie, and cracked his forehead on the windowsill. I rushed over to pick him up and soothe him, and once I realized he was ok, I sat him in the big chair, and handed him his blankie.
That's when I saw it.
A Goose Egg. Big, and red, and sure to swell up in the morning.
Fortunately, I was able to stop laughing before he could climb out from under the Blanket and see me.
I love my kids. Life would be very boring without them.
