The Christmas Parade

I saw Santa !
Tonight, I took my son to ride in the christmas parade. He's only three, and didn't understand that the candy was for people on the side of the road, so he got a bellyful before it was over with. This being my first parade as well, I didn't realize how quickly you run out of candy if you don't pace yourself. We were out before we even hit town square. Lot's of cute little kids got no candy from me, but fortunately, the seasoned parade parents took up the slack, and made sure everybody got candy. The float won the School Division, and it was a joyous moment when the judges came by with the plaque that said "Winner" on it. I had no idea those were the judges, and we waved and offered them candy when they came by to judge the float. All that christmas cheer, plus the Grinch and the cute little kids in christmas hats and red mittens, no wonder we won. We were all very proud, and announced our prize to anyone who looked vaguely familiar as we went down the parade route.
This being a very rural area, it was over in about half an hour, but it was lots of fun, and Noah got to see lots of Fire Trucks up close. We saw Santa, and went right up to him. I put in a good word for Noah, and made sure he knew Noah wants a train set. It was good to make good on my promise while Noah was with me (I had promised him I would let Santa know he wants that train set, and that he's been extra good) I just know he'll bring it for him.
Sissy Girl and the Parents watched the parade with Daddy, and we made sure they got a big bunch of Candy. Yes, it's preferential treatment, and I don't care if it makes me a bad girl. That's my baby. It was great to get out of the house after so long, and be in a social setting. Maybe that will help me shake these winter blues.
So, What do you want for christmas?
