Starting a business is a scary venture, but doing it with no startup capital is absolutely terrifying. I would have had startup money If I had waited until we filed our taxes, but I was going stir crazy after staying at home for 3 years. You can only handle so many Veggie Tales reruns til your eyes start to water at the mere mention of the name. I love my kids, and being a stay-at-home mom was great, but the Stay at home part gets old after a while.
It's been a real test of my abilities to stay positive. My wonderful husband has never had his own business, and he has worried and worried and questioned my judgement and just generally struggled with me, up until yesterday. I don't know what changed, but he finally just seemed to accept the fact that I've done this before. (Starting a business with no money that is)
Then my babysitter decided to stand me up. Of course she waited until I was standing on her front porch, to pick her up before she told me this. I gave her another chance, and she DID IT AGAIN! I guess I'm just stupid. So I'm going to interview another babysitter tomorrow.
Then, my brakes started to grind. THAT was almost too much. But, I was fortunate enough to meet someone willing to fix them for the cost of an Ad. I was so thrilled when I picked up the Jeep, and he told me he had replaced a rotor that literally fell apart when he removed it, and the parking brake, which did the same thing. Disintegrating brake pads. Hmmm...
Here's the best part. If the brakes had gone bad even one DAY before they did, I would not have been able to pay for the parts, and I would have had to park the jeep until my husband had the money and inclination to fix them. Which means I would not have been able to go sell the Ad that payed for the parts. I'm feeling exceedingly grateful for the fact that, while it was a major inconvenience for the brakes to go bad, That they did so at the perfect time. Now I can fearlessly load up my two precious children, and cart them all over the countryside-their favorite pastime, to go for a "wiiiiiii" (That's "ride" in 2speak)
My coach gave me a great phrase to use when I told him all the stuff that seemed to be going wrong.
"I am attracting and allowing the perfect _____________________ Easily and effortlessly"
I've been repeating this several times a day in reference to the perfect child care situation and the perfect clients, and I think it's working!
